Fairbourne, Gwynedd,
I have had holidays around Fairbourne, since I was a toddler and I love it here.
This Welsh holiday is suitable if you want a quiet and relaxing holiday.
The scenery is beautiful and has a wonderful blue flag beach which
you can walk to in a few minutes from our home, or you can use the beach car park.
This holiday is suitable for those who want a quiet holiday and for those that love to bike, walk, climb, explore, observe the wildlife and generally relax.
Our home is for families to enjoy a good holiday in wonderful surroundings.
There is a local Hotel that has a Bar and puts on entertainment during the holiday season and there is also a small amusement arcade.
There is also loads more to do in the surrounding Snowdonia area.

This Bungalow is available throughout the year.
weekends may be available during the winter months.
Indoor arrangements
The Lounge / Diner has a hatch from the Kitchen, and a Dining Table and Chairs.
There are two sofas in this room and a couple of beanbags for children to sit on.
There is a colour television and DVD player in this room,
and information of places to visit.
The accommodation is set up with permanent sleeping arrangements
for 5 persons plus cot.
There is a Double Room with cot available and also a stair gate
for use across the kitchen door if you have toddlers.

and an Adult single bedroom.
These beds are made up for you with sheet, duvet and pillows.
One of the sofas is a sofabed which we will supply bedding for if required,
please ask if you require this.
There is a Bathroom with Toilet, hand wash Basin,
Please bring your own Towels with you as these are not provided.
There is an airing cupboard in the hall which has shelving and also
an iron, hairdryer and hoover.
There is also a well equipped kitchen with Cooker, Sink,
Fridge, Microwave, Kettle, Toaster,
Cutlery, Crockery, Glasses and cooking utensils.
Please bring your own Tea Towels / Dishcloths with you.
Heating for the Bungalow is by electric convector heaters,
please switch these off when they are not required.
Anyone going in the winter can make arrangements for these
to be put on before your arrival.
The bungalow is in easy walking distance of the Blue Flag Beach.
There is no need to use the car for the beach, but if you want there is a beach car park which is pay and display.

Fairbourne is situated on the
It is linked with the Cambrian Coast Railway with links to the
No Dogs are allowed except for the exception of Guide Dogs for the Blind/Disabled.
Other Pets may only be allowed with our permission which will be given in writing.
Please ask for details of charges and conditions.
There is parking at the front of the property and a gate to the side of the property which leads into
a large lawned area. These are cut regularly throughout the summer and great for children to play games on.
The back garden faces South so it gets the sun during the day.
The Patio is across the back of the property and garden tables and chairs are stored in the garage. Please help yourself.
You can also use the garage to store any bikes, dinghies, surf boards etc.
Please ensure that the doors are locked when not in use.

This is an area where the little people can play and watch the birds
There is a picnic table with benches, and
bird table and bird boxes. We had young blue tits this year

There is a lovely walk up the beach to
the point, where you can get a ferry to
Barmouth. (The ferry doesn’t take cars)


At the Point , which is the top end of the beach, there is also a Café, and Toilets.
This is where the Fairbourne narrow gauge railway takes you to,
and then the return journey back along the front to Fairbourne station.
Children love to take a ride on this very special steam train.
There is plenty of space to exercise and walk in Fairbourne
Most of the area is flat walking which suits most people
The shops, station and Fairbourne Steam Railway are all in walking distance of the Bungalow
Shops include butchers, greengrocer, newsagents, cafe, take away and launderette
(these shops were correct at time of writing)
There are supermarkets in Dolgellau, Barmouth and Towyn.

There are excellent views from all areas of the bungalow of the surrounding mountains which border
the Mawddach Estuary especially Cadar Idris.
There is also an easy walk or bike ride to Barmouth
via Arthog Station through the Car Park

follow the footpath by over the bridge to Barmouth
the railway track
or by car, you take the road left out
of Fairbourne, go through Arthog
and then cross the estuary at
the Toll Bridge, cost was still 60p in April 2010
please check the closing time of the Toll Bridge as
they do close at different times, depending on the time of the year.
If closed just carry onto Dolgellau and then follow the signs
It's just a few miles longer.
